Our Vineyard Select range is a series of wines that are sourced from independent growers who supply varieties that are not part of our current vineyard plantings. This Pinot Noir was sourced from a vineyard very close to our own in Paso Robles. Pinot Noir is a variety that sees many interpretations of style ranging from subtle, yet elegant wines to rich and bold textured releases. We prefer to echo the more sophisticated type, more along the lines of the great wines from Burgundy in France.

This wine shows obvious red berry fruits with a quite savory, almost ‘meaty’ bouquet with the support of subtle, spicy oak. The palate reflects the slightly fruit-forward nature of the wine along with hints of berries but the real treat is the wine’s texture. Although only mid-weight, the complexity of flavors continues to unravel as the wine emerges. The length of flavor is startling considering the elegance but this just confirms the wine’s balance and structure. Subtle tannins and nice natural acidity assist in completing the package.
